Let the cocktail games begin: Olympic style drinks
Whilst the Olympics uses five rings to illustrate the unification of continents, we plan to do so with eight mesmerizing cocktail recipes.
The idea of bringing the games to your doorstep doesn't get any more real than concocting these Olympic-themed cocktails. To celebrate the commencement of the 2021 Tokyo Olympics, we have handpicked cocktails that will make your experience shoot from bronze to gold.
Olympic
Recipe by Absolut Drinks
With scents of caramel, must, and leather on the nose, the Cognac Drouet imposes creme brûlée, cinnamon, and candied ginger notes to round off a spicy caramel finish. It bodes well with tangy orange flavors to delicately place the Olympic cocktail in the spotlight.
Ingredients:
- Ice Cubes
- 1 Part Cognac (try our double gold winner Drouet Vsop Grand Champagne Cognac)
- 1 Part orange juice
- 1 Part Orange Curaçao
Fill a mixing glass with ice cubes. Add all the ingredients. Stir and strain into a cocktail glass.
Kings of Summer

This one is for all the U.S.A fans supporting their compatriots in the games. The red, white, and blue cooler has hints of elderflower liqueur, dry herbal botanicals of Absinthe, and the crisp tingle of vodka, making it ideal to get the blood flowing.
Ingredients:
- 1 oz. Ketel One Vodka
- 1/2 oz. St. Germain Liqueur
- 1 dash Absinthe (try our silver medal winner Lucid Absinthe Supérieure)
- 1/2 oz. lime juice
- 3/4 oz. Agave syrup
- 1 oz. Strawberry puree
Combine Ketel One, St. Germain liqueur, Absinthe, lime juice, agave syrup and strawberry puree into a blender with ice. Blend. Pour contents into a tall party glass.
Camarena Olympic Torch

The Camarena Olympic Torch cocktail
Inspired by the flaring Olympic torch, the Camarena Olympic Torch cocktail possesses a soft and smooth palate of vanilla and caramel flavors. The spiced orange syrup combines well with soft and sweet agave notes to provide a towering sensation.
Ingredients:
- 1 ounce Camarena Reposado Tequila
- 2 dashes classic bitters
- 1/2 ounce spiced orange syrup
- 2 ounces Brut Champagne
- 1/2 ounce lime juice
- Orange twist, optional
Mix the tequila, bitters, syrup, and lime juice over ice in a cocktail shaker. Shake. Strain the mixture into a champagne glass with the champagne. Top with an orange twist, if desired.
Spiced Orange Syrup Directions
Ingredients:
- Zest of 1 orange
- 10 to 12 whole cloves
- 1 heaping tablespoon whole allspice
- 3/4 cup water
- 1 1/2 cup cane sugar
Heat all the ingredients in a saucepan over medium heat. When the sugar dissolves, strain the mixture. The strained mixture is the syrup; the rest is waste.
Gold Shimmery Champagne

Celebrate the games with this golden cocktail made for champions. The Nykur Premium Organic Vodka’s spring water nose brings together citrus notes and an elderflower flavor to this bubbly aurous.
Ingredients:
- ¼ tsp gold shimmery luster dust
- ⅓ cup elderflower cordial
- ⅓ cup vodka (try 2021 Bartender Spirits Awards double gold winner Nykur Premium Organic Vodka)
- 1 750 ml bottle of chilled champagne (try 2021 Sommeliers Choice Awards gold winner Blanc de Blancs Brut from Szigeti)
Mix the vodka, elderflower cordial, and gold luster dust together to create the homemade gold shimmery liqueur. Chill until needed. Measure ¾ of an ounce (½ jigger) of the gold shimmery liqueur into each champagne flute. Top with chilled champagne (about 4 oz) and serve.
Passion Fruit Caipiroska

To make everyone dance to your samba tune, throw in the Passion Fruit Caipiroska. The Cylinder Vodka’s fresh, clean, and smooth palate mixes well with the sweet passion fruit flavors.
Ingredients:
- 3/4 cup frozen pure passion fruit puree
- 3/4 cup sugar
- 3/4 cup fresh lime juice (from 5 limes), plus 6 thin lime wheels for garnish
- 1 cup plus 9 oz vodka (try our double gold winner Cylinder Vodka)
- 6 cups crushed ice
In a pitcher, stir together the passion fruit puree, sugar and lime juice until the sugar is dissolved. Stir in the vodka. Fill 6 tumblers with the ice and pour the drink over the ice. Garnish with the lime wheels and serve.
Japanese Sour

Mentioned in honor of the 2021 Olympics hosting country, the Japanese Sour is a rich cocktail with a silky texture. The egg white makes the cocktail frothy while Nikka Coffey Grain Japanese whisky delivers sweet and mellow flavors.
Ingredients:
- 2 ounces Nikka Coffey Grain Japanese whisky
- 1/4 ounce lemon juice, freshly squeezed
- 1/4 ounce yuzu juice (or lime juice), freshly squeezed
- 1/3 ounce Japanese kuromitsu (can substitute honey or molasses)
- 1/2 ounce egg white
- Garnish: 5 drops Angostura bitters
- Garnish: 5 drops Peychaud’s bitters
Add the whisky, lemon juice, yuzu juice, kuromitsu and egg white into a shaker and dry-shake (without ice) vigorously for 10 seconds. Add large ice cubes and shake again until well-chilled.Strain into a chilled coupe glass. Garnish with the Angostura and Peychaud’s bitters.
Olympic Ring

Exuberating colors layered on top of each other, the Olympic Ring is a majestic-looking cocktail. Bringing together green, blue, and orange colors from liqueurs, the cocktail is one for people that have a sweet tooth.
Ingredients:
- 1 oz. of Daily's Grenadine Syrup
- 1/2 oz. Cointreau
- 1 oz. Blue Curaçao
- 1 oz. Midori
- 1/2 oz. of Daily’s sweetened lime juice
Pour ingredients slowly, in the order listed, into a chilled martini glass.
Jewel of the Sky

Pouring with citrus notes on the finish, Jewel of the Sky represents India’s diversity, culture, and tradition. As the rose syrup indulges itself in the smooth citrus botanicals of Nykur Premium Organic Vodka, starfruit and lemon juice play their part in making the cocktail an Olympian.
Ingredients:
- 1 oz. Vodka (try our double gold winner Nykur Premium Organic Vodka)
- 1 oz. Bombay Sapphire Gin
- 3⁄4 oz. Rose syrup
- 1⁄2 oz. Freshly squeezed lemon juice
- 2 x 1⁄4" pieces of starfruit
In the metal part of a Boston Shaker, muddle the starfruit with the juice and syrup. Add the vodka, gin, and ice and shake. Fine strain into a chilled cocktail glass. Garnish with a slice of starfruit on the rim.
